On the first floor, the space provides a new light-filled dining area connected to a remodeled kitchen, both of which gained extensive views into the backyard. Above, the new space transformed an existing bedroom into a modest master suite, including bathroom and walk-in closet. While the rooms now have an open and modern flow of space, the addition still feels a part of the original house. By carefully defining rooms and utilizing traditional details and unique feature like beadboard, door and window trim, turned newel posts, and built-in shelving areas, the new construction fits seamlessly into the traditional home.
The project was completed in 2014.
